Manuela Lord

Ms. Manuela Lord is an Occupational Therapist licensed to practice her profession in Ontario and Germany, is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and is a member of the Deutsche Verband der Ergotherapeuten (DVE).

Ms. Lord graduated from the Occupational Therapy Examination and Practice Preparation Program for internationally trained Occupational Therapists of McMaster University in 2015. Prior to that, she obtained a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the Hogeschool Zuyd Heerlen in the Netherlands in 2000, and a diploma of Occupational Therapy in Berlin – Germany in 1995. Manuela has over 10 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist.

Her current practice includes occupational therapy in-home assessment (including assessment of attendant care needs, home safety assessments, and comprehensive physical, cognitive and psychosocial assessments), discharge planning, and occupational therapy treatment for people with brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic pain, orthopedic injuries and various psychological diagnoses, post-traumatic stress disorder work, and return-to-work and vocational rehabilitation.

Ms. Lord is experienced in complex positioning and seating and is an ADP Authorizer for Seating and Mobility Devices as well as CEP Authorizer for power chairs.

In her spare time, she is currently sitting on the board of the Orillia rowing club, is a learn-to-row instructor, participates in their masters rowing program, and also enjoys swimming, paddle boarding – especially with her dog on board – canoeing, kayaking, and mushroom hunting among other things.
