Play Therapy

Play therapy is particularly effective in helping children aged 3-12 who are experiencing depression, anxiety, bullying, emotional disturbances, behavioural issues, trauma, and more. It allows them to freely express thoughts and emotions, learn to resolve challenges, and discover appropriate coping strategies for many situations. Therapeutic play usually takes place in a safe, comfortable area, with very few rules imposed on the child. This encourages free expression and allows the therapist to observe the child’s choices, decisions, and play style.

The child is encouraged to play with a variety of  toys that encourage self-expression. Arts and crafts, music, dancing, storytelling, and other forms of play may also be incorporated into a play therapy session.

Our Associates have many years of experience working with both children and youth.
