Kate Aben

Kate Aben is a registered member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She provides occupational therapy services across Simcoe County, Muskoka-Parry Sound, and surrounding areas.

Kate graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Health Science – Honours Specialization in Health Science in 2013. Kate then completed a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Queen’s University in 2015.

Kate has 6+ years of clinical experience in various settings including community mental health/case management (Assertive Community Treatment Team) and inpatient hospital settings (Forensic Psychiatry). Within these settings, she has supported individuals with severe and persistent mental health challenges, and physical and cognitive impairments, to increase participation in meaningful occupations, reintegrate into the community and improve functioning.

Kate has pursued additional training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Cognitive Adaption Training. Kate practices with compassion and creativity with the goal of improving the function and quality of life for her clients.
