Liz Everett

Liz Everett has been practicing as a Registered Recreation Therapist (R/TRO) with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario since 2004 primarily in the field of Mental Health and Traumatic/Acquired Brain Injury. Liz graduated in 2004 with Honours from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation Studies, and has also received her Neurorehabilitation Level 1 & 2 Certification from the Ontario Brain Injury Association, focusing on assisting recovery and function following an Acquired Brain Injury. Her educational and professional experience has allowed her to successfully teach at Georgian College in the Therapeutic Recreation Part -Time Program, as well as represent her discipline as a Professional Practice Lead at the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.

Liz uses personal skills such as compassion, critical thinking and leadership to help motivate clients to achieve treatment goals and increased levels of wellness and function.

Coupling a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, she applies empathy, genuineness, and non-judgement to create safe and comfortable environments to assist clients with life changes.
