Balpreet has 15 years of experience in the field of mental health, addictions, case management and psychotherapy. She is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CPRO) as well as a registered member with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers of Ontario. Balpreet has a B.A in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law, and a diploma in Social Service Work. Balpreet completed courses in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. She has specialized training and experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, complex trauma, and acquired brain injuries. She has presented at a number of conferences and workshops. She is a leader in the field of program development and case management working with Canadian Mental Health Association and Veteran’s Affairs Canada. She has worked on various projects and created policy and documentation for a number of mental health and addiction related programs. She is an active member in the concurrent disorder community. Her fluency in the Punjabi and Hindi languages allow her to connect with marginalized groups and increase her ability to counsel and provide case management to individuals to become active and fulfilled members of their community.
