Jillian Lavadan – CDA

Jillian is a Communicative Disorders Assistant with 8 years of experience in the speech and language field, working with paediatric, youth, and adult populations with varying needs. She has spent the last 5 years working within the neuro-rehabilitation field, specifically with clients who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Jillian attended Nipissing University for her undergraduate honours degree and Georgian College for her post graduate certificate. Jillian has worked in Northern Ontario for most of her career and has recently moved back down to Central Ontario to be closer to family.

Jillian has extensive experience working with acquired brain injury, autism spectrum disorder, and augmentative and alternative communication. She always puts the needs of her clients first and works closely with them, their families, and other support members to ensure goals are implemented in a functional and attainable way. Jillian enjoys being creative in her treatment approach to help keep clients engaged and motivated. She individualizes each session based on a client’s needs and interests. She takes accountability for her work and enjoys being part of a multidisciplinary team. Jillian continuously attends courses and conferences to stay up to date on the latest research and best practices.
